Aztec Municipal School District is excited to support early literacy and family engagement through the distribution of free books to students in PreK through 4th grade this summer. This opportunity is made possible through Title I funding and our partnership with the Scholastic FACE (Family and Community Engagement) program.
As part of our Summer Reading Program, each student in grades PreK–4th will receive new books to take home and keep. These books are carefully selected to match a variety of reading levels and interests, encouraging students to continue reading throughout the summer months and helping families build home libraries that support a love of reading.
The initiative focuses on promoting reading outside the classroom and supporting families in making reading a regular and enjoyable part of daily life. From colorful picture books to early readers and engaging stories, the collection offers something for every young reader.
This project reflects the district’s ongoing commitment to equity and literacy by using federal resources to directly benefit our youngest learners and their families. By partnering with Scholastic FACE, Aztec Schools is providing meaningful, developmentally appropriate tools to support lifelong learning.
Families are encouraged to read together, explore the books, and talk about the stories — making summer a season of growth, imagination, and connection.
